Unrivaled Signs Kayla McBride to Multi-Year Contract, Set to Return in Season Three

All-Unrivaled First Team, 5x WNBA All-Star, WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Champion, 4x EuroLeague Champion Returns to Unrivaled
MIAMI (July 7, 2026) – Unrivaled announced today the re-signing of Kayla McBride, an All-Unrivaled First Team selection (2025), five-time WNBA All-Star, WNBA Commissioner’s Cup champion (2024) and Minnesota Lynx guard, to Unrivaled on a multi-year playing contract. Her return is set for the league’s upcoming third season, and her club will be determined at a later date. McBride joins Kayla Thornton, Marine Johannès, Bridget Carleton, Flau’jae Johnson, Gabby Williams and Olivia Miles as Unrivaled’s latest signees.

McBride put together a dominant campaign in Unrivaled’s inaugural season, averaging 22.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals for Laces Basketball Club and was named to the inaugural All-Unrivaled First Team. She is tied for first all-time with nine 20-point games in a single season and ranks among the top five for 3-point field goals made (41) in a single season. McBride also originally set the league's single-game steals record with five steals, a record now shared by multiple players. The wing recorded a career-high 31 points against Rose Basketball Club on Jan. 27, scoring 19 points in the second half alone. She guided Laces BC to a 7-7 record while her 22.4 points per game ranked second in the league in 2025.
Currently averaging 15.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and a career high 1.5 steals per game, McBride is in her sixth season with the Minnesota Lynx and 13th overall in the WNBA. McBride ranks top 10 in Lynx history in total points, points per game, 3-point field goals made, assists and steals. She also ranks in the top 10 all-time in the WNBA for 3-pointers made.
In addition to being a four-time EuroLeague champion (2019, 2023, 2024, 2026), she was named to the All-EuroLeague First Team and earned EuroLeague Final Four MVP honors in 2024.
During her four years at Notre Dame, McBride led the Fighting Irish to a 138-15 record, competing in three NCAA championship games. She finished her career with 1,876 points, ranking among the top 10 in program history. McBride was drafted No. 3 overall by the San Antonio Stars in the 2014 WNBA Draft.
