Mist BC Wins First Unrivaled Championship, Defeats Phantom BC 80–74

MIAMI (Mar. 4, 2026) – Mist BC captured its first Unrivaled championship, defeating Phantom BC 80-74 at Sephora Arena to claim the $600,000 prize pool. The Mist became the second club in league history to win an Unrivaled title, joining Rose BC, who won the inaugural championship in 2025.
Breanna Stewart powered the Mist with 32 points on 11-of-15 shooting and was named the 2026 Championship MVP.
“The first thing I thought of when we won was we deserved this,” Stewart said. “We’ve been tested, we’ve gone through things—our confidence doesn’t waver—it doesn't matter if we’re down 20 or up 20, we’re still going to play hard every single time.”
Arike Ogunbowale and Alanna Smith combined for 30 points off the bench for the Mist, scoring 19 and 11 respectively. Allisha Gray added 12 points.
Kelsey Plum led the Phantom with an Unrivaled playoff-record 40 points on 14-of-21 shooting with six rebounds and five assists. Kiki Iriafen added 13 points and 11 rebounds, recording her second consecutive double-double in the playoffs.
The Phantom finished the regular season 11-3, earning the top seed in the playoffs and advancing to the championship game for the first time in club history.
“I’m incredibly proud of my team,” said Phantom BC head coach Roneeka Hodges. “We didn’t have the result that we wanted, but I’m proud overall.”
Plum carried the Phantom early, scoring 13 of the club’s first 17 points to give them a 17-12 lead. Ogunbowale and Smith sparked a 10-3 Mist run to tie the game at 24 by the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter remained tight, with neither club leading by more than three. Natasha Cloud drilled a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to send the game into halftime tied at 48. Plum finished with 22 first-half points, setting an Unrivaled playoff record.
Stewart took over in the third quarter, scoring 12 straight points during a 12-2 Mist run to give her club a double-digit lead. Phantom BC answered with a 9-2 run to cut the deficit to three, but the Mist shot 66% in the period to carry a 68-62 lead into the fourth.
Mist BC opened the final quarter on a 6-0 run to extend its lead to 12. The Phantom responded with a 12-4 run, trimming the deficit to four as Plum scored 10 during the stretch. After drawing a foul, Stewart sealed the championship victory with a free throw.
Mist BC head coach Zach O’Brien praised the poise of his club during its championship run.
“The character in this group, the winning mentality, the winning history in this group, they’ve seen every situation,” Mist BC head coach Zach O’Brien said. “I’m just proud of them and happy they could get it done.”
