Malonga Throws Down Second Dunk in Unrivaled History, Breeze BC Beats Lunar Owls BC 75-68

MIAMI (Jan. 24, 2026) — Just three weeks into the 2026 season, Dominique Malonga made history as she threw down just the second dunk ever in an Unrivaled game. Breeze wing Rickea Jackson found the forward wide open in the paint, who caught the pass, took just two steps and slammed it in.
“I was happy to feel the love from the whole arena,” Malonga said. “Everybody was so hyped; it was a great moment. I'm not really expressive on the court, so I know that I didn't show a lot, but yeah, it was blowing my mind, actually.”
Sephora Arena exploded to its feet, giving the 20-year-old a standing ovation in response.
“I see [Malonga] dunk every single day, so it's not a surprise to me anymore,” Breeze BC Head Coach Noelle Quinn said of the historic moment, “But to finally get that done in a game is…I love it for her, because I think now that was just the beginning. Now you'll see a lot more of it.”
Malonga finished with a career-high 21 points, leading Breeze BC to a 75-68 victory over Lunar Owls BC. Paige Bueckers sealed the win with a floater, finishing with 28 points and seven assists while marking her third straight game scoring at least 20 points. Rickea Jackson also posted her first double-double of the season, finishing with 10 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
Breeze BC improves to 4-2 with the victory as the Lunar Owls fall to 1-5.
For the Lunar Owls, Aaliyah Edwards led the way with a 23-point, 16-rebound double-double. Marina Mabrey added 18 points and five assists and Skylar Diggins notched a season-high 17 points.
Lunar Owls head coach DJ Sackmann praised Diggins’ work ethic.
“I know the amount of time and energy she’s invested in herself to come back, so it’s great to see her out there, moving really well,” Sackmann said.
Lunar Owls BC briefly regained the lead early in the fourth at 66-63 after a Mabrey jumper and Diggins free throw, but Breeze BC answered with a 10-0 run to take a 73-66 lead and cruise towards the target score as Bueckers sank her third game-winner of the season.
