Vinyl BC Outlasts Hive BC 74-71 Despite Career Highs from Citron and Billings

MIAMI (Feb. 2, 2026) — Career nights from both Sonia Citron and Monique Billings weren’t enough to lift Hive BC past Vinyl BC as they fell 71-74, dropping their second game in a row to move to 2-7 overall.
Five out of six Vinyl players scored in double figures, led by 18 points from Rae Burrell to improve to 4-5 and move two games ahead of the Hive in the Unrivaled standings.
Citron led all scorers with a career-high 32 points, five assists and two blocks. Billings notched her third consecutive double-double with a career-high 23 points and career-high 15 rebounds.
Hive’s starting trio produced all 71 points, marking the first time in Unrivaled history that a club’s bench has been held scoreless.
Hive BC head coach Rena Wakama praised Citron’s career performance despite the loss.
“I was really happy to see her shots go in,” Wakama said. “We’ve kept pouring into her and believing in her.”
Burrell led Vinyl BC in scoring for the second-straight game, followed by 14 points from Dearica Hamby and Erica Wheeler. Wheeler, Brittney Griner and Courntey Williams combined for 32 bench points to the Hive’s zero.
“When you have five players in double digits, that’s hard to beat,” Vinyl BC head coach Teresa Weatherspoon said.
Hamby tied the game midway through the second, becoming the fifth player in Unrivaled history to reach 400 career points. The Vinyl carried a 43-41 lead into halftime behind 26 points from Hamby and Burrell.
Billings posted 13 points and 10 rebounds through the first two stanzas, becoming the fifth player in league history to record a double-double in the first half.
Citron scored seven straight points to open the final frame and later knocked down a 3-pointer to bring Hive within one, 72-71. Rhyne Howard answered with the game-winning free throw to hand Vinyl BC the win.
