MIAMI (Jan. 26, 2026) — Laces BC picked up its fourth straight win of the 2026 season, defeating Breeze BC 76-67 to conclude week three action. The Laces improved to an Unrivaled-best 6-1, behind a standout 29-point performance from Brittney Sykes, who tied her career-high and recorded her third 20-point game of the season.

“It was amazing,” Laces head coach Andrew Wade said. “The performance speaks for itself on paper, but what most impressed me was her effort defensively, pursuit of rebounds and connection with teammates.”

The Laces opened the game on a 7-2 run, fueled by five quick points from Alyssa Thomas, but the Breeze responded with a 12-2 surge led by Paige Bueckers and Dominique Malonga, who combined for the club’s first 14 points.

After four lead changes and two ties in the opening quarter, the Breeze held a 20-17 advantage entering the second.

The Laces regained the lead early in the second before Kate Martin knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers to put Breeze ahead by six.

The Breeze maintained control until the Laces closed the half on a 9-0 run, capped by a Sykes 3-pointer. Sykes and Naz Hillmon scored 13 points apiece in the first half, giving Laces a 41-38 edge at the break.

Malonga scored six of the Breeze’s first eight points in the third quarter, but Sykes answered with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting to help the Laces take a 65-60 lead into the fourth.

Cameron Brink opened the final quarter by knocking down her first 3-pointer of the night, pulling the Breeze within two. The clubs traded baskets before the Laces finished the game on a 7-0 run, sealing the victory when Sykes found Thomas for the game-winning layup.

Thomas finished with 17 points for the Laces on 8-of-11 shooting, while Hillmon recorded her second consecutive double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Sykes highlighted the versatility of Laces BC.

“I’m always going to give credit to our coaching staff for the unit that they put together,” Sykes said. “It’s very rare that you get the group that we have that can literally do it on both ends of the court.”

Bueckers led the Breeze with 22 points, while Malonga finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds, her fourth double-double of the season. Brink added 11 points and a career-high four blocks. Kiana Williams made her Unrivaled debut after joining Breeze BC from the development pool, finishing with six points and four rebounds.

“I loved their fight,” Breeze head coach Quinn said. “We didn’t quit—especially with Kiana coming in today, and Rickea being out, I thought the group was committed to competing.”
