Young Drops Career High, Laces BC Moves to 4-1 with Win Over Rose BC

MIAMI (Jan. 18, 2026) — In a rematch of last season’s Unrivaled semifinals, Jackie Young turned Sephora Arena into her stage, erupting for a club-record 35 points to lead Laces BC past defending champions Rose BC.

“She’s one of the best guards in the world for a reason, if not the best — I’ve got so much respect and admiration for her will to win,” Laces head coach Andrew Wade said of Young.

Laces BC improves to 4-1 as Rose BC falls to 4-2, dropping their second consecutive game after starting the season 3-0.

The Laces opened the contest on a 6-0 run, fueled entirely by Brittney Sykes, who was playing against her former Unrivaled club. Sykes was a key piece in the Rose’s championship run last season, sinking the game-winning free throw that crowned them as the league’s inaugural champions.

The Rose responded quickly, closing the first quarter with a 15-13 lead. Both clubs heated up in the second, shooting over 50 percent from the field. Kahleah Copper and Sug Sutton combined for 18 of Rose BC’s 24 second-quarter points, helping Rose BC take a 39-30 lead heading into halftime.

Young took over in the third quarter, scoring the first 12 points to cut the Rose’s lead to single digits after trailing by as many as 11. She finished the period with 19 of the Laces’ 25 points, bringing her club within three heading into the fourth.

“I told myself to be more aggressive, be more decisive when coming off ball screens,” Young said.

Young and Copper exchanged baskets in the fourth with neither club leading by more than one possession as the 70-point target score loomed. Azurá Stevens drilled a 3-pointer to pull Rose BC within two, 68-66, before Young’s game-winning fadeaway secured the Laces’ fourth victory of the season.

Copper and Chelsea Gray combined for 43 of Rose BC’s 66 points, finishing with 22 and 21 points, respectively. The duo scored 20 of the club’s 27 second-half points.

“It just comes down to making the right plays down the stretch. We didn’t do that tonight,” Copper said.

Up next: Rose BC (3-2) will play Mist BC (3-2) on Friday, Jan. 23, at 7:30 p.m. ET. Laces BC (4-1) face Hive BC (1-4) on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 8:45 p.m..
